Laura Avery speaks with Geoff Bamber of Holy Guacamole about his avocados. He sells Haas avocados between December and October and Reed avocados between June and October. You'll know him because he peddles his guac like a barker on a State Fair midway. Laura also meets up with Alex Weiser who tells us about jujubes, or Chinese dates, from the tree whose branches made Jesus' crown of thorns. Alex also has a bumper crop of squashes. Whether you choose heirloom variety pumpkins, like Black Futsu, Baby Hubbard, and Hearts of Gold, or the sweet potato-like Delicata, it's time to start planning your fall dinner menus.
