Last weekend, the editor-in-chief of Bon Appétit hit a nerve when he tweeted about the "slutty Chinese food" he'd just eaten. Chefs, writers and readers quickly took sides with some female restaurateurs calling out "bro appétit" as sexist and others embracing the use of "slutty" in the food lexicon.

Besha Rodell addressed the controversy in an essay for the LA Weekly, "The Death of Raunch in Kitchen Culture."
