Alex Weiser of Weiser Family Farms has many different potato varieties including banana fingerling, purple Peruvian, Laratte fingerling, Swedish peanut, Ozette, and the German butterball potato. The butterball is great for mashing. Fingerlings make very creamy mashed potatoes.
For the Thanksgiving holiday, farmers at the Santa Monica Farmers Market will start selling as early as 7 am on Wednesday, November 24 - as soon as the street is closed and they are ready.
