A lot is riding on the new HBO show Any Given Wednesday With Bill Simmons. Simmons, a widely read sports journalist was famously fired from ESPN, and now HBO is reportedly paying him $7-9 million a year for the new show. On the first episode, Ben Affleck sat down with Simmons to talk about the Deflategate scandal and let his true feelings fly. The actor had just flown in from London, where is starring in and executive producing the new Justice League movie, so it was possible he was just tired, but many are wondering if he was not entirely sober--he was slurring his words and looked exhausted. It remains to be seen if the show will find a steady rhythm, but coming out of the first episode, they definitely have their viral moment.
