Rethinking Garcetti's 'Great Streets' Plan

"Urban acupuncture" sounds like an ancient remedy for broken streets that dot the city of Los Angeles, from the West side and Valley to Hollywood and Boyle Heights. LA Mayor Eric Garcetti wants to specify, and then work on, neighborhood streets to spruce them up and make more pedestrian-friendly areas. It's called his "Great Streets" program. But some detractors say, what's the point? Especially in car-clogged L.A. KCRW's Steve Chiotakis speaks with LA Observed's Kevin Roderick about the plan.
