A friend of mine told me that he was on a "notes call" the other day. A notes call is a conference call between the writer and the network or studio – or, these days, between the writer and network and the studio. And the non-writing executive producers. And anyone else with a financial interest, but not any writing responsibility – so a "notes call" is basically a way to give the writer notes on the latest draft of a project in the most inefficient way with the least possible audio quality....
