Ron Stallworth was the first black detective in the history of the Colorado Springs Police Department. In 1978, he infiltrated the local chapter of the KKK. His cover was so successful that he was offered to lead the chapter, and he talked with national director, David Duke. He published his memoir in 2014. Spike Lee’s latest film was based on the book, which was reissued recently to serve as a companion to the film.

Documenting Alex Honnold free soloing El Capitan 12 MIN, 32 SEC

In June 2017, rock climber Alex Honnold free-soloed Yosemite’s El Capitan. He climbed all the way up in less than three hours. He had no ropes to protect him from falling to his death. It was his highest free solo. And he let a film crew document the climb. The film is called “Free Solo.”
