Governor Jerry Brown signed legislation over the weekend that requires online databases like IMDB to remove an actor’s age if the actor requests to have it taken down. The authors of the law say it is designed help prevent age discrimination. Meanwhile, many actors are fed up with how IMDB works. Their pages on the website are a key component of the casting process, but unlike on LinkedIn they don’t have total control over what ends up on their IMDB pages.
