In ‘The Feral Detective,’ survivalists resemble Trump voters

In Jonathan Lethem’s latest novel, the lead character is Phoebe Siegler, a New Yorker who’s in Southern California to search for a missing friend. She teams up with a grizzled private investigator, and they go on a Mad Max-style adventure. The book is called “The Feral Detective.”
