How Politically Divided is America?

Hillary Clinton called for unity in her speech last night. But if you watched both conventions, it’s hard to argue the country isn’t hopelessly divided. How did the nation become so divided, and does it spell more trouble down the road? Or is polarization, in fact, healthy for a democracy.
