On Wednesday, 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz fatally shot 17 people at Marjory Stoneman High School in Parkland, Florida. He had been kicked out, and reportedly was fascinated with guns. On February 16, the AP reports that claims of Nikolas Cruz being connected to the Republic of Florida are apparently false. Law enforcement officials have not confirmed that connection.
