From La Burbuja: Miguel

Before joining La Santa Cecilia and winning a Grammy, Miguel "Oso" Ramirez lived on a ranch in Walnut, California. It was just 25 minutes east of downtown Los Angeles. Everyone in the neighborhood came from the same pueblo in Mexico. "We were in Atoyac, just in the United States," Miguel remembers. His family, and three other families, came from Atoyac, which is a small city near Jalisco, Mexico. The traditions were still alive — music, food and parties. And when everyone would gather, there were upwards of 100 people, he says. "It was a place where everyone felt free and had no restrictions of being in the US," Miguel says.
