Rain showers and thunderstorms used to bring nothing but relief for drought-stricken Santa Barbara. But after the mudslides in Montecito, many residents feel nervous and anxious every time they see an approaching storm. That led Cassandra C. Jones from Ojai to ask Curious Coast, “Could mudslides happen again during the next big rain? And if so, how long before that is no longer a threat?”
