Hollywood News Banter

Hosted by

TV Guide magazine chief content officer Michael Schneider and Matthew Belloni, executive editor at the Hollywood Reporter, discuss top entertainment news stories of the week.

  • Sean Parker would like to bring first-run movies to your living room for $50 a film. Some big-name directors support his idea. Movie theater owners, on the other hand, not so much.
  • Les Moonves announced that CBS will sell or spin-off their radio stations. They were the last of the broadcast networks to still own radio properties, which are no longer viewed as having growth potential.
  • Harrison Ford will be back as Indiana Jones in a new movie coming in 2019. But many people wonder if Ford isn't getting a little bit old for action movies. It will be interesting to see how Disney works to create an Indiana Jones universe the way they have done with Star Wars and Marvel properties.
