Hollywood news banter

Hosted by

Matt Belloni, editorial director of the Hollywood Reporter, joins Kim Masters to discuss top entertainment news stories of the week.

  • The landscape of Hollywood is shifting under our feet, possibly at a very high corporate level. 21st Century Fox may be interested in selling a large portion of itself to Disney.
  • On the other hand, a deal that looked like it was all set to proceed -- the AT&T and Time Warner merger -- has now hit a snag after the Justice Department told AT&T that Time Warner would first need to sell CNN.
  • In an unprecedented move, Ridley Scott is cutting Kevin Spacey from the upcoming movie All the Money in the World and replacing him with Christopher Plummer via a mix of reshoots and CG effects. The plan is to get it done before the film’s scheduled release in six weeks.
  • More and more stories involving allegations of sexual assault continue to be published, including a big New York Times piece on Louis C.K.
