Arianne Phillips: Kingsman-The Secret Service

Hosted by

Arianne Phillips is Madonna's costume designer, and has worked with directors like Tom Ford and James Mangold. Her latest project is designing the Savile Row-inspired menswear in the movie adaptation of the comic Kingsman: The Secret Service, directed by Matthew Vaughn. "As a costume designer, my job is to create characters and part of the storytelling process," says Phillips, and she's taking that storytelling from the big screen to the street, with the new Kingsman menswear line for online retailer Mr. Porter that's based on the fictitious heritage brand in the film. She talks about being invited to the merchandising table for the first time, and why traditional film contracts are often unfair to costume designers.
