Tim Robbins: 'The Rivals' at The Actors' Gang

Hosted by

Now wrapping up its 30th season, The Actors' Gang continues its tradition of reinterpreting the classics in the commedia dell'arte style with a daring staging of Richard Brinsley Sheridan's The Rivals, directed by David Schweizer. The Actors' Gang has also become a force for arts education and immersion in the LA community, with special performances for kids, and a prisoner outreach program that brings theater to the incarcerated. This week, founding member and artistic director of The Actors' Gang, Oscar-winner Tim Robbins, talks with Elvis about the company's work in the community, and the particular staging of The Rivals, which he notes, is "George Washington's favorite play."
