Will California's Push for Electric Cars Pay Off?

President Obama calls the Gulf oil spill another wake-up call on the need for an economy that doesn't rely on oil. More than 100 years ago, some of the earliest cars ran on electricity. Although efforts to revive that mode of transportation fizzled a few years ago, California now is making major investments to lead the way.
