Horrified Mexicans watched the American presidential election returns on TV, as the US chose the man who promised a wall between our two countries, the deportation of undocumented people and the end of NAFTA — all despite deep ties between our people and our economies.

After Canada and China, America’s third largest trading partner is Mexico, and there may be no country that watched the election results as intensely. Viewers did not need any reminder about that "wall" -- to keep out the rapists, drug dealers and other "bad hombres." Eric Martin is in Mexico City for Bloomberg News.
