Hagel’s Resignation as a Symptom of Obama’s National Security Problem

Yesterday, the President announced Chuck Hagel’s resignation as Secretary of Defense.  Even some of Hagel’s critics call his forced resignation a sign of White House dysfunction.  Will the President give the next Pentagon leader strong policies and a free hand at implementation?  David Rothkopf, author of National Insecurity: American Leadership in an Age of Fear, and CEO and Editor of the FP Group, which publishes Foreign Policy magazine, calls Hagel “the fall guy.”
