Bahrain Attempts to Crush Protest Movement, Protests in Libya and Yemen Also Turn Violent

In Bahrain early this morning, soldiers fired shotguns, tear gas and concussion grenades down on pro-democracy protesters sleeping in Pearl Square. At least five people where killed. The military then seized control, backed by tanks and armored personnel carriers. Running street battles continued in Yemen’s capitol city, and Libyan police cracked down on a so-called “day of rage.”
