Since 1964, black Americans have voted consistently Democratic, but historically it was the Republicans who opposed slavery, Jim Crow and school segregation. A new book called Wrong on Race argues that contemporary Republicans are getting a bad rap and offers a recommendation. Bruce Bartlett, an aide to then-Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, is the author.
