USA Today was one of several news outlets to report on the so-called "selfie-shoe" -- and then had to clarify how it fell for a corporate stunt on April Fool's Day. HBO's John Oliver thinks April Fools' Day awful and encouraged his Last Week Tonight audience to take the Last Week Tonight No-Prank Pledge.

Sharing Oliver's opinion is Megan Garber, staff writer for the Atlantic, who says April Fool's Day has been ruined by the Internet.
