Fighting Escalates in Syria, US Recognizes Opposition Coalition

The Syrian government reportedly has fired scud missiles against rebel forces today, in an escalation of the conflict that has already claimed at least 40 thousand lives. This follows President Obama's decision to formally recognize a coalition of Syrian opposition groups. The President made his remarks in an interview with ABC's Barbara Walters on the eve of a meeting in Morocco of Syrian opposition leaders.
