Twenty-five years ago, LA's Garfield High School was turning the children of poor Latino immigrants into college-educated engineers, lawyers, doctors and corporate executives, thanks to Jaime Escalante, who died yesterday at the age of 79. Can his teaching strategies be replicated or was he one of a kind? On our rebroadcast of today's To the Point, the scandal of sex abuse by Roman Catholic priests has exploded in Europe.
