Angelenos to Vote on Competing Marijuana Measures

It's now official: marijuana is still illegal under federal law, officially as dangerous as heroin and worse than methamphetamine. At the same time, it's legal as medicine in 20 states.  But that doesn't mean state laws are models of clarity. California's are so vague that every city has its own regulations, and Los Angeles is about to put two — and probably three — competing proposals on the May ballot. We can't resolve the conflicts, but we try to explain them.  Also, with bookstores a diminishing resource, we look at a treasure in downtown LA. On our rebroadcast of today's To the Point, women in combat: another gender barrier is about to come down.
