Caltrans and Oversize Trucks

Hosted by
When a 15-foot-tall truck hit a 14-foot overpass, an automobile driver was killed. A new state audit has faulted Caltrans for relying on only two employees statewide to handle hundreds of reports of road changes and construction projects. Are trucks a danger to other drivers on California highways? Does Caltrans have procedures in place to handle 180,000 oversize trucks a year?
On Reporter's Notebook, David Mihalic, superintendent of Yosemite National Park, will discuss the Draft Yosemite Valley Plan, which seeks to restore portions of Yosemite Valley to their natural state.
