Commission Approves Flexible LAPD Work Schedule

As a candidate, Mayor James Hahn promised LA police officers a flexible work schedule even though Chief Bernard Parks didn't like it. Today, Hahn's new Police Commission unanimously approved it despite concerns by some city council members over whether it will improve public safety or police morale. Cindy Miscikowski, who chairs the City's Public Safety committee, has concerns about the proposal. Dennis Zine, former president of the Police Protective League, says the time has come to implement the long-overdue plan.
