The Wrecking Crew’s Unheralded Role in Pop Music

Hosted by

Here’s a question for all you rock n’ roll history buffs: what do the Beach Boys, the Byrds, the Monkees and Nancy Sinatra have in common? Well, perhaps a few things. One for sure, they all made music with the group of studio musicians known as The Wrecking Crew. The group helped create and played on some of the biggest hits of the late ‘50s and early ‘60s. Glen Campbell later broke out with a solo career. Another of the crew’s better-known players was a guitarist named Tommy Tedesco. Tedesco’s son, Denny, has made a documentary about the group.
