This week was the start of the trial for two men charged in the Oakland Ghost Ship warehouse fire three years ago. The prosecutor opened the trial with the words, “No notice, no time, no way to escape.” He also read the names of the 36 people killed in the fire, and showed their photos. Derick Almena and Max Harris are each charged with 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter. Both have been in jail since the fire.
