Criticism to new bill that says California high school students must take ethnic studies class to graduate

"Her-story," "cis-hetero-patriarchy," and "Whiteness" (with a capital W) are terms included in a proposed ethnic studies curriculum that could become a graduation requirement for California public high school students. State lawmakers are divided on whether or not ethnic studies should exist and what should be included in an ethnic studies course. There’s blowback coming from a lot of different places. Conservatives say it vilifies capitalism, is divisive and too left-leaning. The bill’s author says the revised version doesn’t include enough about anti-semitism.
