What does PG&E’s bankruptcy mean for Diablo Canyon workers?

Hosted by

The state’s largest utility, Pacific Gas & Electric, announced this week that it will file for bankruptcy as it faces massive liability from recent wildfires. The news is especially worrisome for San Luis Obispo, where 1,400 PG&E employees operate the Diablo Canyon Nuclear plant. They fear the bankruptcy proceedings could impact their jobs and pensions, not to mention an even more complicated issue: the plant is slated to be decommissioned by 2025.
