High LA Rents; Are Wages Keeping Up?

Hosted by

As cities go across the country, LA isn’t the most expensive - it’s not San Francisco or New York - but it’s pricey enough. Average rents have been on a skyward trajectory for the few years following the financial and housing crisis. And that has people in town scrambling for cheaper areas of town in which to live. We also talk about the homeless population downtown, and how the housing boom there is affecting Skid Row. Joe Mathews is California Columnist for Zocalo Public Square, and Hillel Aron is a staff writer for LA Weekly. They spoke to KCRW's Steve Chiotakis.
