Can the Scourge of Veteran Homelessness Be Solved?

Hosted by

Mayor Garcetti and the Department of Veterans' Affairs have promised that LA's 2700 homeless veterans can all be housed by the end of this year -- even though they won't have final plans in place for another two weeks. We talk with VA Secretary Robert McDonald, who's in town to re-open a long-empty building on the VA's West Los Angeles campus.

Also, a safety consultant evaluates erosion of the pipeline that ruptured three weeks ago in Santa Barbara. Is there any connection to the tar balls that have washed ashore, most recently in Long Beach?
