Public Works Bonds: Is State Government Functioning at Last?

Hosted by Warren Olney May. 08, 2006
Governor Schwarzenegger is barnstorming the state today with some of the Democrats he used to call "girlie men." Republicans are on board as well, with both sides congratulating themselves and each other, and all claiming credit for the biggest package of public works bonds in state history. The four public works bonds that will be November's ballot add up to $37.3 billion. Is the Governor back on track? What about the Democrats who are running against him? Warren Olney previews what voters will be faced with in November's election with with journalists and Democratic and Republican political advisors.

Legislature passes $37 billion infrastructure bond

SB 1266 Transportation bond ($19.9725 billion)

SB 1689 Housing bond ($2.85 billion)

AB 140 Flood protection bond ($4.090 billion)

AB 127 Education bond ($10.416 billion)
