What the Heck Are They Saying in Silicon Valley?

Hosted by

Silicon Valley is famous for bringing us all kinds of things we want or think we want -- from ever-faster laptops and PC's, to smart phones and social media, and many of those gizmos help us communicate quicker — and sometimes better. But syndicated columnist Joe Mathews of Zócalo's Connecting California says when it comes to the Valley itself, its communication leaves something to be desired. The problem is a seemingly insatiable appetite for jargon and hype. Tech types no longer speak the same language as typical Californians, and Mathews says that's contributing to a growing divide between Silicon Valley and the rest of the state.
