Anne Litt

Host/KCRW Staff, Anne Litt

Anne Litt is the acclaimed host of KCRW's popular weekend afternoon music program.

One of the station's most respected on-air personalities, Anne recently served as KCRW's Program Director for Music for two years and previously led the launch of the station's first online-only music channel, now called Eclectic24.

Outside the studio, the Virginia native and self-described Southern Belle is an in-demand music supervisor for films and commercials, including high profile spots running during the London Olympics and NBA Finals, and provides the soundtrack for some of LA's best restaurants and retail stores, as well as fashion shows by designer Trina Turk.

A dedicated mom, she also volunteers her talents to a number of charities benefitting children, including Pablove and Alex's Lemonade. Anne has called KCRW home for over a dozen years, her latest landing in a life-long love of radio.

"Music has always completely captivated me and taken me to a different place, especially as a kid growing up in a homogenized environment," said Litt.

"I am always reflecting back on that as I put my shows together each week, asking myself what I can contribute to someone's day that they might not discover on their own.

That spirit of sharing, and the idea of telling a story each week that is rooted in an exact time and place in the universe – in essence creating a moment in time – are what keep me excited."

Her first on-air experience was at the forefront of the alt-rock revolution, as a DJ for the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill's award-winning radio station, WXYC. She joined the pioneering independent label Mammoth Records after graduation and eventually made her way to Los Angeles. After forays in commercial radio that included co-hosting the morning show on former alternative rock station Y-107 and shifts at Triple-A, Channel 103.1FM, she made KCRW her main focus, excited to join a team of talented programmers who were forging the new sound of freeform radio. Anne's signature mix of progressive pop, global rhythms and modern sounds has helped establish KCRW as the nationally recognized home of the most eclectic, adventurous music programming in the country.

With KCRW's audience of Hollywood tastemakers, it was not long before Anne began her career in music supervision. Among her numerous successes, was a Grammy nomination for the Little Miss Sunshine soundtrack, which she spearheaded.

Aside from all of her musical pursuits, Anne is an avid gardener, giant Dodgers fan, loves to hit the slopes, especially with her son, Guy.
