Manuel Munoz: What You See in the Dark

Although shot in the studio, the Hitchcock thriller Psycho takes place, largely, in California's Central Valley, in the infamous Bates Motel. Manuel Muñoz, who was born in the Central Valley, imagines a crime of passion set there, which he deviously juxtaposes with Psycho's mayhem. He asks significantly, what's a Mexican American realist doing mixing plot lines with Hitchcock, the master of suspense?
