Design Accelerator ()
In recent years, we've seen the rise of the Design Entrepreneur. Micro-funding sites, affordable 3D printing technology, and digital marketplaces are among innovations that make it more possible for young designers to start a small business. Art Center, together with Caltech and Pasadena’s Idealab has created a design accelerator to help students realize their entrepreneurial ambitions.
If you made it the NeverBuilt show at the Architecture & Design Museum in mid-Wilshire, you probably know that Disneyland was almost built in Burbank, rather than Anaheim. Another project that might have been was a gigantic park with an aquatic theme in Long Beach. In the third of his stories inspired by NeverBuilt, Matt Holtzman asks, “was there something fishy about Disneysea?"
