For most of her life, Melinda tried to lose weight. Finally, she'd had it. For her sixty third birthday her husband gave her a gift of obesity surgery. The only hitch was that the surgery would have to take place in Central America, where it was a fraction of the cost of the same surgery here. She spoke with several other women from the US who had the surgery and they spoke highly of the surgeon and the facilities. So, before you knew it, she was off. She was set to come back a thin, new woman. Aside from being 40 pounds overweight, she was healthy--a pretty good candidate for this type of cosmetic surgery.
But, something happened on the operating room table, and she died...
