Peter Berg: 'Battleship' and 'On Freddie Roach' ()

Filmmaker Peter Berg talks with Kim Masters about the battle of Battleship. The high-priced sci-fi action movie based on the board game was the object of skepticism since the project was announced, and since it's release the movie has struggled at the box office. While it made a decent amount overseas, the US release was dwarfed by the dominance of The Avengers. Berg also speaks candidly about the outsized cost of making these visual effects heavy, potential franchise films and how studios feel the pressure to get into this high risk business.

Peter Berg is also Executive Producer of HBO's miniseries On Freddie Roach, a cinema verite docu-series about the legendary trainer of fighters like Manny Pacquiao. Berg is a lifelong boxing fan and first met Roach over 20 years ago at Mickey Roarke's gym, The Outlaw. Berg gives the background on how On Freddie Roach was meant for AMC and ended up at HBO. He also says he'd like to make more of these docuseries. Some of the possible subjects are President Obama, Rahm Emanuel (Berg was college roommate's with his brother, WME head Ari Emanuel) and college football coach, Mike Leach
