Edgar Wright

Shaun of the Dead started as a satire of zombie films but shifted into making points about friendship and loss.  Hot Fuzz parodies the 80's action film and Bruckheimer excess.  British director and co-writer Edgar Wright (UK TV series Spaced, 'fake' trailer segment in Grindhouse) discusses the weight of comedy - or laughs it off.

UK writer-director Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, hit UK TV series Spaced, 'fake' trailer segment in Grindhouse) speaks with Elvis about his new movie, Hot Fuzz, the action-comedy homage to buddy-cop movies such as Lethal Weapon and Point Break.

Hot Fuzz is co-written with star and co-writer of Shaun of the Dead, Simon Pegg and boasts a stellar cast headed by fellow Shaun-lead Nick Frost, Jim Broadbent, Paddy Considine, Timothy '007' Dalton and Bill Nighy, to name a few.

Wright says that the UK does not having an buddy-cop movie in the way that the US does was an inspiration for this 'romantic comedy for guys' and advises those who have yet to see the film NOT to sit in the first few rows as THIS FILM IS VERY LOUD!
