Elvis Mitchell hosts  writer-director Julien Temple (Vigo, The Great Rock n Roll Swindle, Absolute Beginners, Glastonbury) whose new film is Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten.

Julien talks to Elvis about how his skepticism about The Clash ended as soon as he saw them perform live at London's 100 Club during Punk Fest in 1976, the "curse of the talking head" when directing a documentary, how he reconnected with Joe Strummer years later, and the challenges of making a film about a complex "punk rock warlord." Julien also talks to Elvis about his early career directing videos and the musical feature film Absolute Beginners, which was based on an era in London that was ultimately responsible for the birth of punk.
