    The novel that gave us the film Precious has been pursued by producers since it's publication. First-time screenwriter Geoffrey Fletcher is the man who wrestled it to the big screen -- and got an Oscar nomination in the process. He found a speeding heart amidst the chaos.

    Push, despite the book's tough subject matter and difficult writing style, the source of Precious' "fantasy" sequences, his family and upbringing's impact on his writing, and his own struggles as a writer/director and life experiences as an African American.
