John Landis: Monsters in the Movies
Host:
Produced by:
Director John Landis first hit the monster movie scene with his 1971 film Schlock, which he made at the age of 21. Since then, he has been at the helm of monster culture in both film (with works including An American Werewolf in London) and music (he directed Michael Jackson's Thriller). His new book, Monsters in the Movies, is an illustrative anthology of the monster, and also includes interviews with auteurs who got there start in horror, such as David Cronenberg and Guillermo del Toro. We explore the spookier side of Hollywood, from Godzilla to Dracula, and why the monster is the ultimate societal metaphor.
