Comedian W. Kamau Bell has a lot on his mind, and in the past few years, he's found an abundance of ways to get it all out: In 2007 he developed a one-man show, The W. Kamau Bell Curve: Ending Racism In About an Hour, which he continues to tour all over the country. He's also released two albums of his stand up material, One NIGht Only in 2006, and more recently, the 2010 album Face Full of Flour, which was voted one of the Top 10 Comedy Albums of the Year by iTunes and Punchline Magazine. He's also got a podcast with co-host (and Living Colour guitarist ) Vernon Reid, called The Field Negro Guide to Arts & Culture. This year he hit the mainstream with his new weekly talk show on FX, Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell. It's produced by Chris Rock, who approached Bell about doing the show after seeing his stand-up routine. He sits down with Elvis in New York to talk about what it's like to be a black man in San Francisco, why he compares stand-up to writing a term paper, and his approach to making jokes about racism.
