KCRW receives the majority of its operating funds from individual members – and for less than the cost of a daily newspaper, you too can support some of the most important programs on radio. Your membership provides us with the dollars to support NPR and PRI programs and KCRW produced shows like To the Point, The Treatment, Left, Right & Center and Which Way, L.A.?. Your annual subscription allows us to produce Morning Becomes Eclectic with its dynamic line-up of live performances and music shows with DJs who handpick their music. This is a singular achievement in a time of anonymous, automated radio. Listen as a subscriber and ensure KCRW has the resources to sustain news and music services that go beyond the borders of public radio.

KCRW Membership Levels and Benefits

While there are numerous levels of KCRW Membership listed below, you may donate any amount you wish. Installment plans are available for membership levels of $365 or higher. If you are interested in a sustained monthly giving program that allows your membership to auto-renew itself, consider our Star Subscriber levels.
$25: Basic member benefits include Your Guide – a monthly newsletter on KCRW programming updates and current events, and eligibility for On-Air and Online Giveaways (tickets to shows/events, or CDs).
$50: Receive Basic member benefits, the Fringe Benefits Card – KCRW’s membership discount card that saves up to 10-20% off, and the choice of one KCRW Premium.
$100: Receive Basic member benefits, the Fringe Benefits Card – KCRW’s membership discount card that saves up to 10-20% off, and the choice of two KCRW Premiums OR one $100 Level Premium.
$150: Receive Basic member benefits, the Fringe Benefits Card – KCRW’s membership discount card that saves up to 10-20% off, and the choice of three KCRW Premiums OR one $100 Level Premium + one KCRW Premium.

We offer special Angel Premiums to our subscribers who can pledge just one dollar a day or more for a year.
$365 Angel: Choose 3,000 Frequent Flyer Miles OR one Angel Club (except DVD Club) OR select four KCRW Premiums.
$500 Angel: Choose 5,000 Frequent Flyer Miles OR one Angel Club OR select four KCRW Premiums.
$1,000 Archangel: Choose 10,000 Frequent Flyer Miles OR two Angel Clubs OR select four KCRW Premiums.
$1,500 Archangel: Choose 15,000 Frequent Flyer Miles OR two Angel Clubs OR select four KCRW Premiums.
$2,000 Archangel: Choose 20,000 Frequent Flyer Miles OR two Angel Clubs OR select four KCRW premiums.
Star Membership
Star Membership is our Monthly Sustaining Membership program. You can join anytime of the year and make your membership contribution on a monthly basis at a donation level that’s just right for you.
When you select one of the following Star donation levels, you authorize to have your membership contribution automatically applied to your credit card every 30 days:
· Star: $5, $10 or $20 a month
· Star Angel: $32 or $45 a month
· Star Archangel: $84, $125, $167 a month
Star Members receive the following benefits:

· Eligibility for On-Air and Online Giveaways (tickets to shows/events, or CDs)
· Year-round eligibility to be entered in KCRW sweepstakes
· Attend Matt's Movies (Available at Star Angel/Archangel levels)
Star Members at $10 a month or more receive the choice of 1 to 2 KCRW Premiums. Star Angels and Star Archangels receive the choice of 1 to 2 Angel Premiums (with the exception of Frequent Flyer Miles).
Star Membership is convenient as you never have to worry about your membership expiring. All Star Memberships are set to auto-renew in January of each year - at which point you’ll receive a NEW Fringe Benefits Card and (if at $10 a month or more) you get to select your choice of a NEW KCRW Premium(s) or Angel Premium(s) as your Anniversary Thank You Gift.
We want you to stay a KCRW Star forever, but you may cancel your subscription after a minimum of six monthly donations. Please just contact the KCRW Membership Department by phone at 310-314-4635 or 800-600-KCRW (5279).
Membership Policy.

KCRW has an annual membership renewal cycle. New Membership and Renewing Membership Donations (excluding Monthly Sustaining Memberships – “Star Membership”) provide a member with 12 months of membership benefits to KCRW.
Members can renew their membership 3 months prior to their membership expiration date. A donation made more than 3 months prior to a member’s expiration date (or within the first 9 months after a member’s New or Renewing Membership Donation was made) is not considered an “early membership renewal” – it is considered an Additional Gift.

Additional Gifts
Additional Gifts of $50 or more are eligible to receive a premium and are automatically entered in all available KCRW sweepstakes – however, they do not extend the length of a membership (with the exception of a Membership Upgrade).
Additional Gifts are donations made more than 3 months prior to a member’s expiration date (or within the first 9 months after a member’s New or Renewing Membership Donation was made).
Although members can renew their membership only once a year, they can always give an Additional Gift as many times as they like. Some members even give each pledge drive to take advantage of the great premiums!
Upgrading Membership
Depending on the amount, a donation will upgrade a member to a higher level of membership for one full year if it is both of the following:
- made within the first 9 months after a member’s New or Renewing Membership Donation was made
- equal to the full amount of the next level of membership, or any other higher membership level
Refunds and Premium Exchange
All contributions to KCRW are non-refundable.
Premiums may be ordered at the time of donation and may be exchanged only if defective or sent in error.
Locating Your KCRW Membership Number.

Your KCRW membership number is a five or six digit number. You can find it at the bottom, left side of your Fringe Benefits Card. You can also find it located just above your name and address on all KCRW mailings.
You will be asked for your membership number for On-Air and Online Giveaways and when making reservations for Matt's Movies. If you are not able to provide your member number, don't worry. You can also provide your contact information – ie: phone number, mailing or e-mail address.

Updating Your KCRW Member Information.

Please let the KCRW Membership Department know if you have moved, changed your name, phone number, mail or e-mail address, or made other changes to your personal information. You can also update account preferences in regards to receiving mail, e-mail or other concerns related to your membership account. On-Air and Online Giveaways

KCRW offers On-Air Giveaways every day (up to five times a day!) for for just-released CDs, or tickets to concerts, movies, festivals and other events around Southern California. KCRW also offers Online Giveaways via KCRW e-newsletters, or on occasion at KCRW.COM for KCRW Presents events in Southern California, San Francisco, New York, or Washington, D.C.
All current KCRW members are eligible to win tickets every 90 days on a first-come, first-served basis. Giveaway winners will be asked to provide their member number and contact information. Individuals are only allowed to use one KCRW member account with which to win tickets. All On-Air or Online Givaways are non-transferable.

Your Guide is a monthly newsletter on KCRW programming updates and current events going on with your favorite radio station. You can find info on current KCRW sweepstakes, Top Ten lists from your favorite Music Programmers, as well as updates to our Fringe Benefits Directory.
Fringe Benefits Card

The Fringe Benefits Card offers KCRW members discounts up to 10-20% off at over 1000 Southland locations – includingstores, services, restaurants, theaters, museums, event venues and music stores around town and online.
Everyone who subscribes to KCRW at either the $50 level or more, or as a Star at $5 a month or more, will receive a personalized Fringe Benefits Card. We’ll send you a plastic credit-card size Fringe Benefits card – with a convenient, compact card that attaches to your key chain – along with a handy directory of all the current Fringe Benefits providers. Since the plastic card may take up to 6 weeks to arrive, we'll send you a temporary Fringe Benefits Card – which comes in the form of a postcard – within 1 week of your donation.
Members must have received a temporary or permanent Fringe Benefits card with member number in order to receive discounts from participating providers. Donations cannot be rush-processed for a member so they can take advantage of a discount – this is as a courtesy to other members who have made donations prior.
The Fringe Benefits Card will include only the one or two names that are on your account. If using two names, both people on the account must reside at the same address.

Matt's Movies

Matt's Movies is KCRW’s movie screening program – a benefit for Angel/Archangel and Star Angel/Archangel members (Matt's Movies members are eligible to bring a guest to each and every screening).
Nearly every month, KCRW screens the best of independent, foreign and other challenging films at theaters throughout Southern California, usually the week before the film opens. Be the first to see the movies that eventually everyone will be talking about.
Announcements for Matt’s Movies are run on-air from 5am to midnight within the week before each screening. In addition, we now send e-mail notifications to members of Matt's Movies.
Reservations must be made online once the movie has been announced on-air or via e-mail. The link to the RSVP webpage for Matt’s Movies will be included in the e-mail notification that all Matt’s Movies members receive. You will need to provide your Angel or Archangel member number, e-mail address, and indicate whether you will be attending with a guest.

KCRW Premiums (Thank You Gifts).

KCRW offers a variety of Premiums from which to choose from as a Thank You Gift for your donation.
Everyone who subscribes to KCRW at either the $50 level or more, or as a Star at $10 a month or more, is eligible to choose to receive a KCRW Premium: T-Shirt, Mug, Cap, Bag, Sweatshirt, or CD.
Angel Premiums are available to subscribers at the Angel/Archangel or Star Angel/Archangel levels: CD Club, Book Club, Cookbook Club, DVD Club (For donations of $500 or more, or at $45-$167 a month), or Frequent Flyer Miles (American, United, or Delta).
During our twice-yearly pledge drives (Winter and Summer), we offer an even more extensive selection of Premiums: CD packs, tickets to concerts and events, vacation packages, and gift certificates to restaurants, spa treatments and a variety of adventurous endeavors (ie: rock climbing lessons, balloon ride, helicopter tour, etc.)
Premiums may take 6-8 weeks to reach you and we thank you for your patience. You may designate one alternate shipping address for your Premium(s) per donation.
Frequent Flyer Miles.

Frequent Flyer Miles for American, Delta and United are available as a premium at the Angel/Archangel and Star Angel/Archangel levels. At the time of your donation we'll ask for your frequent flyer number and the name on the mileage account.
It generally takes 3-4 weeks from the time we process your donation for the miles to be credited to your account. You will see the miles on your next account statement from the airline. Note: Currently Delta is the only airline that will notify you immediately via e-mail once the miles are posted (if we have your e-mail address on file).
Shipping Fees

Shipping Fees are required for KCRW Premiums.* Please include the appropriate amount for Shipping Fees with your KCRW donation:
KCRW Premiums = $5 for one, $10 for two or more.
Angel Premiums (except Frequent Flyer Miles) = $20 each
*Star Members at $10 a month or more, and Archangels = free shipping

KCRW accepts the following methods of payment for donations: credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), personal checks, cashier’s checks, and money orders. Pledge Drives.

KCRW has two, 11-day Pledge Drives each year – in the Winter and Summer. The first pledge drive of the year occurs in late January/early February. The second pledge drive occurs in early/mid- August. KCRW offers special Premiums, free bonus items and sweepstakes prizes during these pledge drives.
Gift Memberships.

Giving a KCRW Membership is a great gift. Gift Memberships can be done online at KCRW.com, by phone when you call the KCRW Membership Department at 310-314-4635 or 800-600-KCRW (5279), or by mail when you send a check to KCRW Membership, 1900 Pico Blvd, Santa Monica, CA.
We will need the following information for both the gift giver and the gift recipient of the Gift Membership: name(s), mailing address, phone and e-mail (optional). We will also need to know the membership level and any KCRW Premiums that should be included with the Gift Membership.
The gift recipient will receive a postcard within a week after the donation was made with information about their gift membership, any information on KCRW Premiums that may have been chosen for them, as well as information on who purchased the gift membership for them.
Matching Gifts.

If your employer participates in a Matching Gift program, they will match the tax-deductible portion of your contribution. Matching Gifts will not increase your membership level or overall donation because it is a tax-deductible donation for your employer.
Contact the Human Resources or Community Relations Department of your employer to obtain a Matching Gift form. Complete the Employee portion of the form and mail it to: KCRW Matching Gifts, 1900 Pico Boulevard, Santa Monica, CA 90405.

Tax Deductibility of Donations and Fair Market Value of KCRW Premiums.

KCRW, a non-profit public radio station, is wholly owned and operated by Santa Monica College. Contributions to KCRW are tax-deductible to the extent allowed under Internal Revenue Code Section 170(b).
If you received any premium(s) as part of your donation, the amount of your contribution that is deductible, for federal income tax purposes, is limited to the amount by which your gift exceeds the fair market value of the premium(s) you receive (ie: the value of your donation minus the value of your premium(s) = the amount of your tax deductible donation).
Tax Letter (Acknowledgment)
A tax letter is issued each January, for the previous calendar year, to members via e-mail or mail.
