One of the original turntablists, J Rocc founded the Beat Junkies in 1992 with Melo-D and Rhettmatic, who began his career in the mid-80s as a solo DJ.
In addition to mixtapes and his own production for Stones Throw releases, J Rocc has been the DJ for Madlib’s live shows and was the 3rd member of Jaylib, a collection featuring the late great J Dilla. He joins KCRW's own turntable specialist, Anthony Valadez for an all 45's guest set in advance of his upcoming show, Ultimate Breaks and Beats, a vinyl-only DJ throw down featuring legendary artists Biz Markie, Breakbeat Lou and Peanut Butter Wolf.
