According to Michael Kinsley, "A gaffe is when a politician tells the truth – some obvious truth he isn't supposed to say." That is what Donald Trump did when he said women should be punished for having abortions, according to Dahlia Lithwick. Indeed, women are already being punished for having abortions in this country and, "whoops, he said it out loud." A recent Gallup poll shows that 70% of women have an unfavorable view of Trump, leaving both Rich Lowry and David Frum with a gloomy view on what's to come for the Republican Party. The most important task Republicans have in front of them, says Frum, is to not loose the House and Senate in November. Josh Barro quoted Erick Erickson's Tweet "A lot of Trump voters have failed at life and blame others for their own poor decisions. They’re using Trump as a vehicle for revenge." Is that true? Supreme Court justice nominee Merrick Garland started meeting with Republicans on the Hill this week and the Court started handing down 4-4 decisions. This is the court's nightmare scenario today and next term as well, Lithwick said, there's confusion and frustration.

Josh Barro (Business Insider) moderates from the Center. Dahlia Lithwick (Slate.com) is on the Left. Rich Lowry (National Review) is on the Right. David Frum (The Atlantic) is our special guest.
