Late last week, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced they were walking away from negotiations with the city over a stadium lease renewal. It's been a contentious issue this year, with the majority of the City Council wanting to give owner Arte Moreno the rights to develop land on Angel Stadium and keep the tax revenue, while Mayor Tom Tait has publicly criticized the deal. To add a Billy Martin-style sand kick to the wound, the Tustin City Council will hold a closed-door meeting tomorrow to determine whether they're interested in having Moreno build a stadium on the old Marine base in the town. Are the Angels serious about moving away from Anaheim—or is this just Moreno grandstanding for a better deal?
